Yamaha’s all-new, V6 Offshore series takes the proven 4.2 litre engine platform to the next level by incorporating technological advancements previously only seen on Yamaha’s flagship V8 425hp XTO.
The new F225 not only looks good with it's more aggressive styling, but comes with Yamaha's Thrust Enhancing Reverse Exhaust system, which delivers increased prop grip and thrust for improved maneuvering in docking situations and reversing up to your next big catch.
Another cool feature is the new Total TiltTM system which allows the outboard to fully tilt up and down from any position, with a simple double push of the Up or Down Tilt buttons. This not only makes operation easier, but the new mounting bracket system allows the engine to sit higher out of the water when not in use, for improved long-term durability and protection.

To achieve this, Yamaha has included built in Digital Electric Steering (DES) in this model. This new DES system delivers extreme precision and smoothness and is a huge advancement in boat control. When combined with Yamaha’s Helm Master EX control system, these engine packages deliver boating and fishing experience unlike any else on the water.

This beast of an engine has been designed from the ground up to deliver maximum power and thrust. Powered by a big bore, 5.6 litre, naturally aspirated engine, the XTO Offshore opens up a whole new class of large outboard driven boats, delivering a more reliable, fuel efficient and premium quality engine solution.
The XTO Offshore is not only our most powerful outboard, it is also our most technologically advanced, with the introduction of Yamaha’s first fully integrated power system.
This system combines a revolutionary fully integrated electric steering system, with our premium CL7 multifunction display, advanced ‘drive-by-wire’ throttle controls and Helm Master joystick docking and positioning controls - creating a truly effortless boating experience.
Other key features include an in-water gear lube change system, oversized rugged gear case and hardened gears, massive 90 Amp power-generation system and large diameter XTO OS high thrust prop.

Yamaha has taken the next step forward in premium outboard power, with the introduction of the XTO Offshore 450.
Featuring the same 5.6L big block displacement and long list of features as our original XTO 425, this awesome engine improves the outboard that took the world by storm.
The XTO Offshore 450 now comes with a Phase Angle Control Charging System, which features three-phase, simultaneous charging that produces more net amps at a low RPM - ideal for running high demand devices like gyro stabilisers, air conditioning, sounds systems and more.
For extra convenience, this engine is equipped with Yamaha’s exclusive TotalTiltTM with tilt limiter, resulting in faster and easier engine tilting with a simple double push of the tilt up or down button.
The cowling has also received an upgrade with raised chrome graphics and restyled panels, adding to the XTO’s premium look while embodying the extreme power of this massive outboard.
With the huge success of Yamaha’s industry leading Helm MasterTM EX Autopilot and Joystick system, the XTO 450 Offshore now offers the option of a built-in Propeller light. Installed directly into the engine apron, this cool looking safety feature indicates when one of the Helm MasterTM EX SetPoint modes is active, providing a warning to anyone approaching from the rear of the vessel.
Yamaha has also released two additional XTO prop options. A new XTO EC® prop has been designed to reduce ventilation which can occur when pushing big heavy boats, due to the extreme thrust produced by this engine. For lighter vessels, a new 27-inch pitch prop is also available, providing increased RPM at wide-open throttle for potentially more top-end speed.
With all these improvements, the XTO 450 Offshore offers more power, more technology and more convenience than any other engine in Yamaha’s big horsepower line-up.
