The VMAX SHO high performance range was recently expanded to include the VF115, allowing smaller horsepower rated boats to take advantage of this high performance platform. This in-line four cylinder, 1.8 litre outboard is tuned to deliver additional top-end performance for high performance sports such as bass fishing, skiing and racing. The VF115 has achieved significant weight reductions, by utilising a lightweight composite lower pan and cowling, a single-ram power trim and tilt mechanism, and a lightweight mounting bracket, delivering an exceptional power-to-weight performance. This compact, lightweight and capable engine delivers a performance typically associated with a two stroke, but with the convenience, reliability and whisper quietness of a four-stroke.

Yamaha’s VMAX SHO (Super High Output) four-stroke engines have been designed to be the lightest, fastest and smartest high performance engines on the market. Originally developed for the US Tournament Bass Boat market, these extremely powerful motors are ideally suited skiing, boat racing and a whole range of other shallow-hull water sports. The 2.8 litre VF150 engine not only achieves exceptional power outputs, but delivers an incredibly efficient, clean and quiet performance that uses up to 40 percent less fuel than traditional carburetted two-stroke engines. Their streamlined design conceals a 16-valve double-overhead cam, variable camshaft timing and electronic fuel injection, delivering the exhilarating hole shot and top speed of a two-stroke, with the efficient advantages of a four-stroke. The VF175 VMAX Super High Output four-stroke outboard is lighter, faster and smarter then any other outboard in its class. This exceptional piece of machinery has been purpose built to meet the needs of the high performance and competition market, and is ideally suited to smaller bass boats, flats boats, skit boats, bay boats and other performance hulls. This powerful 2.8 litre, 16-valve double-overhead cam engine utilises variable camshaft timing and electronic fuel injection, to deliver an exhilarating hole shot and top-end speed, while producing a incredibly efficient, clean and quiet performance.
